No one likes experiencing negative emotions. They make you feel uncomfortable and sometimes even bring out your worse side. We all have emotions, even the people who appear calm, cool and collected.
Our emotions are telling us something about ourselves. If we can tune into their message, we can usually benefit. For example, people who have higher levels of guilt and responsibility for daily occurrences that do not affect others as strongly are generally better leaders. They tend to be the manager or high level executive in business and they are good in crisis type situations. The sensitivity while sometimes uncomfortable has given a benefit as well as identifying a person's talent.
In Ayurveda, negative emotions are thought to hurt our health. We cannot stop a negative emotion from appearing, but we do not have to entertain the emotion and allow it to harm us. We can use the emotion to become the unique person we are meant to share with the world.
Stay healthy & well,
Lisa
