How A Woman Can Double Her Weightloss Efforts Without More Exercise & Less Food

Really.  A small pill can help a woman lose more weight, and it does not seem to work for men.  This pill is a probiotic strain known as Lactobacillus rhamnosus.

In a scientific study, women and men underwent a 12-week weight-loss diet, followed by a 12-week period of a maintenance diet. During the study, half the participants took two probiotic pills daily from the Lactobacillus rhamnosus family, while the other half received placebos.  After the 12-week diet period, researchers observed an average weight loss that was double for the women receiving the probiotic.  No differences in weight loss were observed among the males in the two groups.

Additionally, after the 12-week maintenance period, the weight of the women in the placebo group had remained stable but the probiotic group had continued to lose weight.  Again, women consuming probiotics lost twice as much weight.  Researchers also found a favorable balance for the appetite-regulating hormone leptin in this group and an overall lower concentration of the intestinal bacteria related to obesity.

The study demonstrates a key Ayurvedic principle of digestion being a pillar of health.  The probiotic made the intestines healthier, thereby strengthening the ability of the body to process and digest food more efficiently.  One of the problems with aging is the slowing of the body's metabolism and how that causes weight to be gained more easily.  The probiotic improved the digestive environment and process.

Weight loss is not a simple matter of calories.  There is the component of holistic health, which means the health of the entire body is taken into account.  While a weight loss diet can help someone lose pounds, the process can be done easier and faster with a healthy body.  Strong digestion is one of the necessary components for good health.

This is great news, especially around New Years.

Stay healthy & well,
Lisa
